the seasons

You know there's hope that winter is over when you see the Sentintels of Spring!

Seems like they just start poking their heads out of the earth then April is full of color.

May is magical! If you don't love the cool, wet mornings, and the blossoms of May, you don't belong in the garden.

Color, color, color... it's the peak of seasons. There's a few weeks in there before the heat where color seems to explode.

Late in the summer, just before the leaves begin to turn there's a short time for the blooms that love the hot days and warm nights.

Autumn is a relief from the heat, the colors are beautiful but it also warns you of the cold days ahead.

It's the howls of winds that chill you to the bone. It's the crackling of the frozen ground...

It's the whisper of winter.

Nothing is more surreal than waking to new fallen snow. As the day breaks, the snow sparkles, your boot steps crunch and everything appears glittered. Within those moments there is a deep silence yet we hear childhood voices. Put on a coat, wrap yourself memories and experience the silence of snow.

You ought to have seen

how it looked in the rain,

The fruit mixed with water

in layers of leaves,

Like two kinds of jewels,

a vision for thieves.

~Robert Frost excerpt from Blueberries
